Zev Vel is an aspiring director of photography based in Woodstock, NY. He has worked on a wide variety of film sets including music videos, documentaries, feature films, and live performances.

Film/Videography and Editing
Zev has worked on a number of short films, including Persephone, Blondie's Mother music video and Pink Lightning. He also has experience on feature films such as In Our Nature which is premiering at SXSW in 2012. He has also worked on other professional projects, including films for the Tonner Doll Company, MasterCard Headquarters in NY and Ulster Tourism.
Recently, Zev was first camera on the Kingston Now! TV show as well as for a live feed for the Hudson Valley Center for Innovation. Zev also has experience with switching cameras through a TriCaster system. As an aspiring director of photography, Zev has developed expertise in handling professional gear. He is also experienced with post production work as an editor and text animator using Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe CS5 and other products.
Zev uses a Canon 7D for his personal work. He has been first and second camera for many live performances at the Bearsville Theater. Zev has also been hired by companies including Archibald Heating and Air Conditioning to create educational films and commercials.
The Symbol of Peace, Zev's current project, is being submitted to many film festivals nationwide.
Photography
Zev's passion for the natural beauty of the world around him is apparent in his minimal editing approach. His still images include portraits, nature photographs, and photojournalism. Zev also has experience in proffesional settings such as weddings and film sets.
Zev's work has appeared in a juried art show in Ithaca, NY, and was recently featured in a student publication, The Good Life Journal with three of his photographs being featured.
